Emerging cities are experiencing rapid, massive and uncontrolled urbanisation. This trend is a consequence of population growth, which is unlikely to slow down in the near future. These cities are increasingly complex and diverse, and are often oversized by demographic pressure. Decentralisation processes, strong land pressure and household poverty undercover the need for a cross-cutting approach to meet the challenges of socio-economic development, food security, protection of the environment, spatial organisation, and urban resilience.

Rethinking cities and regions therefore require the implementation of new development strategies and management methods. Our work covers strategic, territorial, urban and socio-economic development, planning and governance at both city and regional levels.

Planning and developing cities and regions involve a large number of sectors (public, private, civil society, etc.) and stakeholders who interact and sometimes contradict each other in complex ways, through the juxtaposition of different institutions and territorial units. Our collaborative approach fosters the emergence of a shared, common vision.
Always adopting both a generalist (geography and urban planning) and a sectoral approach (socio-economic development, resilience, food systems, social and gender issues), our work is nourished by ongoing dialogues with local partners and project stakeholders. We adapt our methodologies to provide tailor-made solutions for each area by integrating innovative digital tools.
